ALC Press Inc. headquarters established at 4-10-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
  Produced English-language magazines for the Sanno Hotel, Hotel New Otani, and others.
1970
Launched the production of English study aids on cassette tape.
1971
  Began publishing the monthly English learning magazine English Journal (EJ).
1972
First capital increase, to a total of two million yen.
1973
  Company headquarters moved to Shibuya, Tokyo.
1976
  Second capital increase, to a total of five million yen.
1978
  Began publishing the Study Abroad Guide as a supplement of English Journal.
1979
  Editorial division moved to Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
1980
  Third capital increase, to a total of 15 million yen.
1981
  Began publishing the semiannual magazine FEN Guide.
  Established EJ Cross Culture Club to commemorate the 10th anniversary of English Journal.

  Launched 1,000-Hour Hearing Marathon, an English listening comprehension correspondence course.
  Editorial and advertising divisions moved to Aoyama, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

  Changed the name of EJ Cross Culture Club to ALC CAT (Cross and Talk) Club.
  Launched CAT magazine.

Feb. Completed construction of and moved to present headquarters at 2-54-12 Eifuku, Suginami-ku, Tokyo.
Apr. Launched the monthly Japanese learning magazine Nihongo Journal.
  Fourth capital increase, to a total of 30 million yen.

Apr. Started the NAFL Institute Japanese Language Teacher Correspondence Course.
Dec. Began publication of Gekkan Nihongo ("Monthly Japanese") magazine.

May Established the ALC Study Abroad Advisory Center.
Jul. Launched the monthly magazine Seven Seas.
  Completed construction of the ALC Kiyosato recreational facility.
Sep. Launched the monthly magazine Active English.
1989
Feb. Established the NAFL Japanese Language Association, a membership organization for those taking the NAFL Institute Japanese Teacher Correspondence Course.
